Vicodin side effect
Vicodin is a medication prescribed by doctors containing both hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is used to increase the effects of Hydrocodone. Both drugs are used to relieve pain. The most common Vicodin side effect is lighheadedness, although as with most drugs there are a variety of side effects.
People taking Vicodin may experience dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Constipation is a common side effect of narcotics in the opiate family.
Severe Vicodin side effects
If the urge to take more Vicodin occurs this is a serious condition and needs to be addressed immediately. Other severe side effects include confusion, anxiety, a change in breathing, blood pressure, or heart rate, and signs of liver damage.
Liver damage can be identified visually in a few different ways. The skin or eyes may begin to yellow, pain in your abdomen, or darken urine are all possible signs of liver damage. Others may experience allergic relations to the medication.
Medical note
When deciding to discontinue use of Vicodin or any other medication it is key to talk with a doctor first. While the side effects of medications can be bad, discontinuing the drug immediately can produce much worse side effects. Medications need to be slowly tapered off of to avoid hazardous side effects and should only be done with the help of a medical professional.
Alternative To Meds Center contracts medical professionals who are experts in medication tapering. The process is simple and straight forward. Each step is done slowly to ensure minimal discomfort. Through the entire process our clients are served whole foods to fuel the body properly during the process as well as vitamins and supplements the body needs to replenish and refuel it back to a state of well being.
Withdrawal symptoms are at their worst when a person is malnourished. By using the right foods our clients can avoid many of the unpleasantries associated with withdrawal. The body also needs to move about to keep itself from becoming stiff or rigid. Through yoga, acupuncture, and light exercise our clients are able to move about at their own pace, keeping the blood flowing and their minds off of the discomfort.
We also offer nutrition courses to aide our clients in their new medication free lifestyle. Upon returning home each client is armed with the necessary tools to make proper diet choices that will maximize mood and minimalize discomfort.
