Residential Program Overview
Our purpose is to help a person regain their mental health, so that they can succeed at being happy in life. This is obtained by stabilizing the neurochemistry using naturally occurring substances, removing the heavy metal and other toxins through chelative sauna methods, and gradually replacing medications with natural alternatives.
Philosophy
We believe that there are real underlying reasons why a person may be suffering from anxiety, depression, loss of passion, or inability to handle emotional pain. While drugs have a place in treatment, often they do nothing for the underlying causes, and have side effects that render them less than ideal. We feel that many mood disorders are the result of either poor nutrition, or an inability to metabolize good nutrition due to damaged enzymes, mutated genes and toxicity overload. A person in balance should be able to handle even the gravest of tragedies without the situation becoming a chronic mood disorder. We approach this balance not only through customized detoxification programs and nutrition but exercise, yoga, acupuncture, counseling, supplementation and medication tapering.
Neurochemical Rehabilitation
The resident begins by seeing a collaborating licensed medical doctor. Labs are drawn to determine things such kidney and liver function, CBC with differential, complete metabolic testing, thyroid testing, lipid panel and heavy metal toxicity. The lab test link is here: lab tests The toxicity testing is taken before, during, and after the customized detoxification process to determine efficacy of the applied treatment A gentle medication tapering schedule is written that is carried out, on average, four to eight weeks. This allows for one’s neurology to adjust and minimizes withdrawal symptoms.
Educational Institute
As we pride ourselves in being a Green Mental Health educational institute, the resident then learns about clinical nutrition so that they may be able to develop ways to achieve brain chemistry balance naturally. They see how their moods may be associated with what they eat. The way we eat is a culturally ingrained thing, and bad habits about food are hard to change, especially without alternatives. These alternatives are difficult to find with our current food industry which tends to exchange health for profit. We not only provide those alternatives, we teach the resident how to prepare mood balancing foods that are surprisingly simple, and definitely good tasting. They learn how specific toxins impact their neurochemistry from peer reviewed medical journals, and reliable documented sources. They then get to relate that to their particular circumstances and their own lab results as a learning exercise. They learn about how to purify their environment from negative electromagnetic radiation. They learn about non-toxic cleaners, organic hygiene products, water purification and how to create a Green Mental Health environment in their homes and lives. Our intention is to empower the individual so that they can make conscious health decisions and wisely choose their health care providers. This is so they can continue producing the results they see in our program for life.
The Mind Body Connection
We also feel that one of the best ways to clear your mind is to strengthen your body. Current research supports not only mild exercise, but the use of yoga and acupuncture to achieve overall wellness and balance. We provide daily yoga 5 days per week, and Sedona hiking on a daily basis.
Sauna Program

This program involves a cardiovascular warm-up and then up to two hours per day in the sauna for about one month. During this period, clients engage in an intensive supplement program and chelation specifically designed to metabolize toxins and heavy metals into a water soluble form that can be excreted via the sweat glands and urine. This truly remarkable process ensures the removal of chemical restimulators as well as environmental and occupational toxins. This program was used on more than a thousand rescue workers who were at ground zero during 9/11, virtually saving many of their lives through its ability to help rid them of the chemical exposure they were subjected to. A complete detoxifying sauna description can be seen at: chelation sauna program
We understand how distraught a person can be about the whole subject concerning medications and their choices. When the side effects become too much, or the medication no longer works–which can be the consequence of long term drug use–what then? You have a tricky mess which can be overwhelming without direct support. Most doctors are lacking clinical nutrition as part of their formal education, which leaves them unable to guide a person out of a desperate situation such as this.
We are happy to speak with you or your doctor to coordinate the most effective way to transition you from the condition you are in to the condition you’d like to be in. On site, clients are allowed freedoms and flexibility, and the ability to explore the beautifully charming city of Sedona.
We use Specific Aminos based upon lab results and relevant clinical data. Aminos are the building blocks of protein, and neurotransmitters are special proteins. The Amino therapy is individually tailored to the client’s unique biochemistry. Most of our supplements are organically based whole food products, which we combine with Orthomolecular supplementation techniques to give the benefits of full spectrum whole food vitamins, and isolated super-supplementation.
Modern food processing strips most all of the nutrients from our food, and a person who consumes this food with regularity will be vitamin and nutrient deficient. Psychosis is a common symptom for those lacking basic supplementation. We use mostly pharmaceutical grade, generally prescription vitamins in combination with an organic and whole food diet. We find this to be the most rapid and corrective measure in treating psychosis, and addictive disorders
