Green Mental Health

What is Green Mental Health? We talk about a green and sustainable environment, but what about green and sustainable mental health?

Green Mental Health is a practice whereby all factors that can affect mental health are considered. Green Mental Health would be aptly defined as “Reducing exposure to the substances known to be bio and neurotoxic, participating in striving to buy, sell and use environmentally friendly products and foods, and the practicing and evolving uses of techniques to eradicate toxins from one’s body and one’s environment.”

Green Mental Health seeks the following:

  • Eliminate the use of toxic pesticides as they damage the organs of the body and brain required for healthy neurochemistry
  • Eliminate the use of amalgam fillings and encourage the ADA to pay for removal of these from those who have them.
  • Help people reclaim their lives from psychiatric medication
  • To broaden the use of Orthomolecular, Environmental and Functional Medicine Mental Health techniques
  • To inform the public about the deleterious effects of Genetically Modified food on Mental Health
  • To promote eco-centers and bio-spas where people can clean out their toxic load and regain health
  • To provide safe food for our children in schools, and the public at large
  • To provide a chemically safe environment for our children at school
  • To inform the public about the damage of sugar and processed foods on Mental Health
  • To inform the public about the known links aspartame and MSG have to anxiety, panic attacks, weight gain, and many other diseases from diabetes to cancer
  • Create strong attractors for recycling
  • Reduce overall waste
  • Educate people regarding the real causes of adverse mental health symptoms and how those physical underlying causes can be healed through detoxification, nutrition, exercise and environmental hygiene – lowering exposure to toxins
  • Eliminate industrial contamination of water
  • To perfect chelation and other methods on removing heavy metal and organic toxins
  • Promote hygiene products that are free of toxins
  • Promote the highest grade nutritional supplements available
  • Reduce the contamination of the air we breathe
  • Eliminate the demand for poisoned produce through choosing organic thus saving our lives and the lives of the wildlife affected by this profit driven practice that produces toxic waste throughout the U.S.
  • Educate about the effects of toxic household cleaners and educate about bio-friendly replacements

Detoxification in this toxic world which we are in is a component of overall health. We need to learn how toxins affect not only physical, but Mental Health, and begin practicing and promoting those methods. More can be learned about this and other Alternative Mental Health subjects at Alternative to Meds Center, a facility practicing Green Mental Health is located in Sedona, Arizona and can be reached at 800 359 9698.
